Popular songwriter Endo dies at 76

TOKYO, Japan - File photo shows Minoru Endo, renowned composer of popular Japanese songs, who died Dec. 6 of an acute heart attack at a Tokyo hospital at the age of 76. The file photo was taken in August 2001 when he was training physically handicapped and elderly people for an operetta performance in Tokyo's Nerima Ward.

TOKYO, Japan - Japanese composer Minoru Endo (L) presents a CD containing a song he composed and performed to Shigeru Yokota (R) and his wife Sakie (C) in Tokyo on Jan. 25. The Yokotas, whose daughter Megumi was abducted by North Korea in 1977, represent a family group of abduction victims.
